Dayton Indepentdent Schools

The Dayton Independent Schools Leadership Team came to me looking for a way to provide better communications through their web site. Mr. Wolf, Principal of Dayton High School, wanted a clean and easy way to navigate the site that would allow photos of students engaged in their learning process. Mr. Duty, Principal of Lincoln Elementary, wanted an easy way for teachers to create their own site. I asked other districts who they used for their web hosting service and the majority of the responses replied “School Pointe”. After my research, I contacted School Pointe for pricing and features. I provided the information to the leadership team. The leadership team was impressed with the pricing and features. They wanted to get the project up and running as soon as possible. I engaged School Pointe and was provided several web site templates that could be customized for my district. After providing my district’s information, School Pointe was able to create a custom web site template for Dayton Independent Schools. I provided the template design to the leadership team and they were pleased with the design. I provided a master list of teachers, administrators, and staff members that will be updating the school site to School Pointe and our new site was on it’s way to be created. The School Pointe designer was able to create our site in about a week. A user from each school was trained on how to update the site through School Pointe, and the training was great. Lauren Schultz, our trainer, was able to answer our questions so that we understood how to do everything to update the site. We were able to make minor design changes just by contacting Lauren.

Now with our new site, teachers can easily create their own Online Classrooms, principals can post their monthly messages, and other staff members can update their sites without needing someone to do this for them. Parents can sign up for eCommunications – a great feature to engage parents. Over all, our experience with School Pointe has been all positive.
